1971 Inauguration of the United States Postal Service

This is a Sterling Silver medal & First Day Cover commemorating the Inauguration of the United States Postal Service 1971. It was manufactured at the Franklin Mint in Pennsylvania. The Medal has Benjamin Franklin & Postmaster General Winton M. Blount.

There is toning on the back side of the medal (see photo). The package comes with:

  • The coin and 2 First Day cancelled stamps
  • A commemoration booklet describing the coin and stamps
  • A letter of authentication (COA).
  • A dark blue carrier sleeve (not shown).
